Who should follow this blog? Anyone who is looking for company on the journey to personal and professional organization and focus. I write about organizing, learning, working, cleaning, teaching, budgeting, technology, cooking, and just about anything else that has to do with being a parent and being a professional.

What does “A Game of Balance” mean? This reveres to a life spent working hard to balance professional and personal priorities. I am very invented in my teaching career but I don’t what that to take away from me also being a good mom. Also, I call this a “game” because I look at these challenges as something that is fun to continue to improve my methods and philosophy. Read more about this in my post about what I did when I had $22 to spend on 4 days worth of groceries.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned while playing the game of balance? Absolutely positively the most important thing is to establish your personal priorities and use them as a basis for everything else you do. You can’t let your financial or professional priorities dictate your personal goals, you should set your personal goals first and then let them guide you in making all the other plans in your life.

What is your family like? I am a single mom of a toddler. My son's father is a great dad and I have absolutely no complaints about our relationship...as long as we don’t try to socialize. Both my parents and my son’s grandparents are extremely supportive; sometimes it’s hard to convince them that it’s time for him to come home. My family and my son’s family is absolutely wonderful.

What do you do for a living? I am certified to teach middle and high school Language Arts. Currently I work part time at a really nice private Catholic School teaching public speaking to 9th-12th graders. I also coach competitive debate. I am starting my masters in Educational Technology and plan to research the way we use technology to teach communication skills.
